About the position

As the IT Infrastructure Project Manager at Uline, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing IT infrastructure initiatives that are critical to the operations of North America's leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, WI, or Waukegan, IL, depending on the needs of the projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently from start to finish, aligning with Uline's commitment to quality and service excellence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various Uline teams to design and engineer infrastructure projects, while also managing external vendors to ensure successful implementation. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive work plans that outline project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing requirements. You will also be tasked with establishing clear and informative communication channels, providing weekly status updates, dashboards, and project updates to stakeholders. Your leadership will be essential in navigating the complexities of IT infrastructure projects, which may involve hardware refreshes, operating system upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and IT requirements for building construction. Your ability to manage projects with a variety of technologies and platforms will be crucial in driving Uline's continued growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, execution and completion of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with Uline teams in designing/engineering infrastructure projects and manage external vendors in the implementation of infrastructure.
  • Develop detailed work plans identifying project timelines, milestones, risk assessment and management plans, and staffing needs.
  • Establish and provide high quality and informative written and verbal project communications including weekly status, dashboard and project updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Project and Office.
  • Experience managing projects with a variety of technologies, platforms and enterprise-wide impact.
  • Experience with hardware refreshes, operating system upgrade planning, Disaster Recovery and IT requirements for building construction, a plus.
