About the position

As the IT Infrastructure Project Manager at Uline, you will play a pivotal role in supporting IT infrastructure initiatives for North America's leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, WI, or Waukegan, IL, depending on the needs of the projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of various IT infrastructure projects, ensuring that they align with the company's strategic goals and objectives. Your leadership will be crucial in driving these initiatives from inception to completion, allowing you to see the tangible results of your efforts. In this role, you will work closely with Uline teams to design and engineer infrastructure projects, while also managing external vendors to implement these initiatives effectively. You will develop detailed work plans that outline project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing needs. Your ability to establish and maintain high-quality communication will be essential, as you will provide informative written and verbal project updates, including weekly status reports and dashboards. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that all aspects of the projects are executed smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with Uline teams in designing and engineering infrastructure projects.
  • Manage external vendors in the implementation of infrastructure initiatives.
  • Develop detailed work plans identifying project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing needs.
  • Establish and provide high-quality written and verbal project communications, including weekly status updates and dashboards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Project and Office.
  • Experience managing projects with a variety of technologies, platforms, and enterprise-wide impact.
  • Experience with hardware refreshes, operating system upgrade planning, Disaster Recovery, and IT requirements for building construction is a plus.
