About the position

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer to support the FBI Program. This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the core IT infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems. As part of the program team, the Systems Engineer will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure components, aligning with federal standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions supporting Program requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with CSfC (Commercial Solutions for Classified) standards and other applicable security frameworks.
  • Collaborate with system architects and other engineers to optimize infrastructure performance and scalability.
  • Manage network configurations, system upgrades, and hardware/software installations.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies, including VMware, and other cloud-based solutions.
  • Support the integration of new technologies and infrastructure components as part of system modernization efforts.
  • Assist in developing and executing pre-production testing strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise during proposal and pre-production phases of Program.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required upon application, with the ability and willingness to be upgraded to a TS/SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience in IT infrastructure systems engineering, including hands-on experience with designing and managing enterprise-scale systems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization (VMware), storage systems, and server infrastructure.
  • Experience with enterprise-level systems management, configuration, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or private cloud solutions).
  • Expertise in implementing and managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and standards (FISMA, NIST, etc.) and experience with implementing secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, preferred.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), AWS Solutions Architect, or similar.
  • Experience working on federal government IT projects, particularly in the intelligence community.
