About the position

At Gundersen Health System, we are seeking an IT Instructional Designer to join our ITDS Business Operations and Affiliates team in Hillsboro, WI. This full-time position is essential in ensuring that our educational materials evolve alongside the rapid advancements in education and technology. As an IT Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing learning solutions that cater to the Epic training needs of St. Joseph's hospital and clinics, as well as the Boscobel hospital and clinics. Your role will involve collaborating with our main training team to address all Epic educational needs and materials. In this position, you will engage in a variety of tasks including the design of instructional management systems, evaluation of new eLearning materials, and the creation of educational content. You will also be tasked with revamping both new and established learning models, implementing feedback from program reviews, and training others on how to effectively deliver learning material. Staying current with Epic build changes, including quarterly upgrades and hyperdrive conversions, is crucial, as is keeping the training content and environment updated. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in IT, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience. While clinical and Epic experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement. If you are not already certified as a trainer in Epic, you will be required to complete the necessary training and certification within 60 days of hire. Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
  • Adhere to regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Education, or a related field or equivalent years of experience and education
  • Two years' experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to become Epic certified within 60 days of hire
