About the position

SAIC is seeking an IT Integration Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama to provide software and systems support design and implementation for the MALET JSIL Aircrew Trainer (MJAT) Program. The MJAT Program is designed to offer a family of systems that enable plug-and-play training capabilities, transforming a current tactical MQ-9 Reaper ER ground control station (GCS) into a training simulator. This program not only facilitates simulation training for UAS/RPA operators but also includes brief/debrief capabilities and multi-system connectivity, ensuring that operators can maintain proficiency and currency in all required tasks through effective training solutions. As an IT Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of various tasks within an agile environment. Your responsibilities will include implementing design solutions across a diverse technological landscape, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and documenting the solutions you develop. You will also be tasked with identifying potential risks associated with the solutions being developed and supporting mitigation efforts. Additionally, you will install new hardware and software, create and manage system configurations, and engage in light programming or scripting opportunities. Your role will also involve implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and patches across a wide variety of hardware solutions, ensuring that all systems are secure and up to date.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with two (2) years of experience; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree
  • An Interim Secret Clearance is required to begin employment; a Secret Security Clearance is required to maintain employment
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Wide understanding and application of virtualization technologies (VMWare, OpenShift, Containers, dockers, Kubernetes and Virtual Machines)
  • Wide understanding of networking (routing, firewalls, NAT, PAT, VTP, VRF)
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Experience working with Windows 2019 server or later performing system administrator duties
  • Installation and configuration of applications and operating system within a Linux environment
  • Evaluate systems and upgrades for functionality
  • Experience with Linux virtualized Environment (KVM, Ovirt, Libvirt)
  • Experience installing and maintaining Red hat Linux 8 Server operating systems and services
  • Experience patching performing patches, upgrades, and vulnerability assessment
  • Design and automate system administration tasks using available tools within the environment
  • Storage knowledge and experience with file systems configuration along with logical volume management
