IT Intern - TechTrek Program - Lincoln, NE

About the position

The IT Intern position within the TechTrek program at Ameritas offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the technology ecosystem of the company. This 12-month program involves engaging in various aspects of the software development life cycle, including analysis, development, testing, security, and data engineering activities. Interns will have the chance to transition into full-time roles upon successful completion of the program, contributing to Ameritas' mission of providing trusted financial products and advice.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions utilizing custom or packaged software, including automation and development tools.
• Incorporate application development, data engineering, and security engineering principles into work.
• Gather requirements through interviews and/or research.
• Document findings and present results to stakeholders to provide insight into project-related designs.
• Support in the creation of project-related artifacts and visualizations for internal or stakeholder use.
• Gain experience with a cross-section of IT and security resources to enhance career development exposure.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Able to fulfill a year-round commitment - part-time during the academic year (10-20 hours a week) and full-time during the summer (30-40 hours a week).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively.
• Positive, self-motivated individual with a high level of enthusiasm and willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Possesses a self-starting approach to assignments and responsibilities.
