About the position
The IT Intern position at Gentherm is designed for students to gain practical experience in the field of IT, specifically focusing on AI and machine learning applications within manufacturing. This internship provides an opportunity to work on real projects that contribute to the company's goals while learning about Gentherm's culture and values. The program runs from May 19, 2025, to August 8, 2025, and includes collaborative learning experiences with executive leaders and fellow interns.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy APIs to facilitate seamless data flow and integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Work closely with the IT teams to design and implement integration solutions.
- Assist in developing and optimizing machine learning models, leveraging large language models (LLM) for enhanced analytics and insights.
- Analyze data from various sources, conduct exploratory data analysis, and generate insights for decision-making.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to enhance data quality, governance, and scalability.
- Document integration processes, data workflows, and analytical findings.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in school and have finished their freshman year by the start of the internship program.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Familiar with Microsoft products.
- Experience with API integration.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts, LLMs, and data modeling techniques.
- Proficient in Python and experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a keen interest in learning and adapting to new technologies.
