About the position

The IT Internal Auditor at Amazon plays a crucial role in enhancing risk management and operational efficiency across various business units, including Devices, Media and Entertainment, Alexa, Advertising, and Corporate functions. This position involves conducting independent audits to assess business processes, systems, and controls, with the aim of improving compliance and security. The auditor will engage with multiple stakeholders, manage audit projects from planning to reporting, and communicate findings effectively to drive positive change within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, scoping, execution, and reporting of audits based on identified risks.
• Conduct operational audits across various business units.
• Work with business, IT, finance, and legal partners to plan and execute audits.
• Develop meaningful findings from audits to communicate risks to the business.
• Translate operational risks into business issues and prioritize findings and recommendations.
• Facilitate agreement among multiple stakeholders on appropriate solutions to mitigate risks.
• Coach and train less experienced auditors.
• Manage multiple audit projects simultaneously.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Math or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting, Auditing, Consulting or Finance roles, demonstrating progression in responsibility.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Risk management experience, including assessments and designing controls.
• Results-oriented mindset with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
• Experience collaborating on a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with COSO, COBIT, ISO, NIST, and/or ITIL frameworks.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies like Kaizen and Six Sigma.
• Experience with SQL, ACL, Tableau, or other data analysis tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP preferred.
• Experience with a Big 4 accounting or consulting firm.
