About the position

WSP is seeking a Junior IT Financial Analyst to support the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions within the IT department. This role involves gathering, interpreting, and analyzing financial data to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in finance and IT systems, along with the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze IT expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Assist in financial planning and analysis for IT projects, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Adhere to processes within ERP Modules for timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and invoices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 0-1 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within an IT environment.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and database management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
