About the position

Cardinal Services is looking for a motivated IT Level 1 Technician to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of IT services. This role emphasizes customer service, communication, and adherence to internal processes, while working closely with the IT Director on various technical initiatives and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users and ensure timely resolution of IT work orders.
  • Foster relationships and maintain satisfaction with colleagues, departments, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in user account management, including administration through Office 365 and Windows Server.
  • Manage patching and backup processes according to established procedures.
  • Assist with network-related tasks such as DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and routing.
  • Serve as a technical resource for staff and participate in technical meetings.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to business operations.
  • Participate in yearly training requirements and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the IT Director on technical initiatives, projects, and network-related problems.
  • Work towards meeting IT department goals and performance metrics (Balanced Scorecard).
  • Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates degree or 2 years of experience in IT support or a related field (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in a technical helpdesk environment (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience supporting Windows workstations and services in a domain environment (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, etc.) within the first year of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2012, Office 365, and Microsoft 365.
  • Understanding of basic networking principles, including DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and routing.
  • Knowledge of patch management and backup management fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Critical thinking abilities and the ability to drive results.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
