About the position

The IT Low Voltage Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of voice and computer networks within a carrier and enterprise class organization. The role aims to ensure the smooth operation of voice and data communications networks, maximizing performance and availability for end users. The technician will work closely with engineers on various projects and is expected to uphold the values of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians while performing all necessary duties to meet program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Low Voltage Engineer and Network Engineer on daily projects.
  • Maintains fiber infrastructure, including new construction.
  • Works with building access control systems and new installs for access control systems.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and configures fire/burglar systems.
  • Responsible for audio visual troubleshooting, installation, and configuration.
  • Responsible for general networking troubleshooting and repair.
  • Maintains the network infrastructure and components.
  • Keeps surveillance systems maintained and manages new installs.
  • Troubleshoots and configures paging systems.
  • Configures and troubleshoots networked lighting systems.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, designs, and configures CCTV systems.
  • Conducts tests and replacements of UPS systems and batteries.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or a combination of verifiable related education and experience equivalent to ten (10) years.
  • At least five (5) years of demonstrable background in managing projects.
  • Ten (10) years of employment experience in structured cable and fiber experience.
  • Ten (10) years of employment experience in access control, audio-visual installation, maintenance, testing, and programming.
  • Audio-visual design, installation, programming, and maintenance experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing and monitoring network and physical security.
  • Basic knowledge of network design and architecture.
  • Skills in formulating, evaluating, and implementing business plans.
