About the position

The IT Manager - Infrastructure (Data Center-Server-Storage Operations) is responsible for leading a technical team in the management and support of data center operations, including servers, storage, and cloud infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the planning, installation, and ongoing administration of IT infrastructure, ensuring quality assurance, and developing team members through performance evaluations and coaching. The manager will also participate in vendor evaluations and manage the overall data center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a technical team supporting Data Center-Servers-Infrastructure Storage Operations.
  • Plan, install, and administer IT infrastructure including servers, storage, and cloud services.
  • Assign duties and check the work of subordinate team members.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of projects and support activities.
  • Create and update data center policies and procedures related to security and maintenance.
  • Expand the Cloud infrastructure footprint as part of digital transformation efforts.
  • Manage yearly performance evaluations for team members and ensure succession planning.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for hardware, software, and technical services.
  • Prepare long- and short-range plans for services provided by the team.
  • Create and manage Data Center inventories, documentation, reports, and metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of technology experience supporting IT Infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervising a technology team.
  • Deep understanding of Active Directory (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience managing a Microsoft 0365 environment (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience in developing a Data Center Server and Storage strategy (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience in planning the buildout/expansion of a Data Center (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience with Hybrid Cloud design and migration planning (minimum 2 years).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience from a management point of view is a plus.
  • Ability to forecast capacity needs and budget projections.
