About the position

The IT Infrastructure Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for leading a team to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of the company's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software systems. The IT Infrastructure Manager will also collaborate with various departments to identify technology needs and implement solutions to support business objectives. The jobholder is a hands-on technical manager and also manages architecture, technical problem resolution, and project management. The jobholder manages low voltage wiring, wireless, server, voice and network staff as well as external providers. The jobholder provides troubleshooting, operational support, and monitoring for the organization's Infrastructure cabling, Data Centers, LANs, WANs, WLANs and Voice Networks. The jobholder strives to ensure that the organization's Infrastructure (servers, storage, networks, voice systems and service) are available to consistently support our business community and outages disrupt the business as minimally as possible. The jobholder should be up to date on all areas of infrastructure technology and recommend architecture improvements. This position requires an individual who is innovative and can mobilize distributed teams within a multi-national company for the purpose of executing technology solutions in alignment with the business vision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure under the direction of the IT PMO.
  • Manage and lead a team of IT professionals responsible for network administration, system administration, cybersecurity, and infrastructure support.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, hardware, and software systems to ensure reliability and security.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to improve efficiency, performance, and scalability of the infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, data protection regulations, and best practices in IT operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand technology requirements and align infrastructure solutions with business objectives.
  • Collaborate Operations in support of Operational Technology (OT).
  • Develop and manage IT infrastructure budgets, forecasts, and procurement strategies for hardware, software, and services.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze data, and implement measures to optimize network and system operations.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity in case of emergencies.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and training to IT staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure employees and Vendors respond to trouble tickets and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide planning, prioritizing, and forecasting of resources associated with infrastructure support.
  • Manage IT direct reports, including performance management and appraisals, salary reviews, interviewing, training and education, and career planning.
  • Work with Managers, Business, and IT Leads to identify and prioritize issues, improvements, and projects.
  • Utilize various network management tools to proactively monitor the network.
  • Provide off-hours coverage/support as needed.
  • Provide project management that is effective at managing multiple tasks, multiple resources (employees and vendors), while meeting project timelines, project goals, and staying within the project budget.
  • Participate in IT budget development, expense and capital.
  • Ensure staff and vendors maintain records, diagrams and other documents on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure prompt escalation of problems to vendors and/or second/third level infrastructure support needs.
  • Provide leadership in collaboration with members of other functional teams.
  • Work closely with other team members, locally and globally, with proactive sharing of expertise, to improve and ensure team success.
  • Understand IT goals and objectives with regard to core applications.
  • Participate in the development of strategic IT planning to maintain and evolve our business processes.
  • Coordinate activities between North and South America.
  • Participate fully in the success of the overall global IT team.
  • Transfer knowledge and skills to IT staff.
  • Communicate tough messages to business and staff.
  • Produce documentation on all processes practiced or developed.
  • Maintain current duties from job description IT Network and Systems Administrator at your primary assigned site and manage other staff at your assigned sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience of 5 years in managing IT infrastructure and teams in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, server administration, cloud computing, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience with infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance in a complex environment.
  • Proficiency in IT project management, budgeting, and vendor management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CCNA, CISSP) are advantageous.
  • The jobholder must have at least 10 years of hands-on experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Cisco System's IOS.
  • Knowledge of VMWARE OS, Microsoft Hyper V Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of Networking principles and technologies, including In-depth knowledge of Layers 1-7 of the OSI model.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with routers, switches, firewalls, and access-points.
  • A thorough knowledge of DNS, DHCP and windows networking.
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting Frame-Relay, MPLS, VLANs, wireless technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledgeable about VPN and remote access technologies such as Citrix.

  • Travel, domestic and international, up to 40%.
