About the position

The IT Manager, PLM role at Corning is responsible for leading the strategy, design, implementation, and support of Teamcenter solutions globally. This position requires collaboration with internal and external technical experts to create standardized, supportable solutions that align with manufacturing and engineering design practices. The role emphasizes understanding customer needs and integrating PLM capabilities to enhance business processes and data security.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers and businesses to understand their needs and how PLM can support manufacturing strategies.
  • Articulate the value of PLM to businesses and extend its usage where beneficial.
  • Develop and execute PLM roadmaps for divisions, ensuring alignment with their strategies and integration with ERP, CAD, MES, and other systems.
  • Collaborate with external technical partners and manage the portfolio of PLM projects and resources following standard project management practices.
  • Stay current with Teamcenter, Solidworks, and related software to protect Corning's data security.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of Engineering and/or Manufacturing leadership experience in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Proven performance in supervisory, project management, and strategy roles, preferably in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate analytics vision and objectives at all levels.
  • Demonstrated strong Engineering domain knowledge and understanding of technology solutions that enhance processes and business results.
  • Ability to create strong business partner relationships and work effectively in a multi-cultural team.
  • Technical curiosity and expertise in IT technologies.
  • Creative, innovative, and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate teams to enhance contributions and manage global team delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Team Center configuration experience.
  • Solidworks or other CAD experience.
  • Experience with workflow processes such as Engineering Change Management and Audit Management.
  • Certification or experience in Operational Excellence / Six Sigma.
