UMB Fund Services (UMBFS) is a nationally respected investment services provider that offers a broad array of services for mutual funds and alternative investments to a wide range of investment advisors, independent money managers, broker-dealers, banks, third-party administrators, insurance companies, and other financial service providers. The UMBFS Alternative Investments Technical team is responsible for the development and support of applications used by teams within the UMB Fund Services organization. As a mid-level IT Manager, you will lead a software development team consisting of software engineers and application architects who are responsible for building and managing enterprise applications for our Alternative Investments area. Your role will involve coaching team members to adapt and evolve with the latest technologies while coordinating with product development, business partners, and other technical teams to build effective solutions. You will also be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day system operations and support for several business partners, ensuring full operational functionality of those systems while addressing staff and client issues regarding system operations. In this position, you will define and execute the technology roadmap for your team, maintain strong relationships with business partners, and serve as the technology expert in business meetings to articulate the business value of technology solutions. You will lead and drive solution recommendations using gap analyses and total cost of ownership analyses across multiple technology options. Additionally, you will manage the development of individuals on your team by providing coaching through listening and timely feedback, setting challenging yet attainable goals, and monitoring their performance. This includes assigning and overseeing team members' work efforts to deliver quality outcomes. You will also develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for areas of responsibility and endpoint infrastructure support, participate in the budget process, and maintain budgetary awareness. Understanding the risk and impact to the business while recommending risk mitigation strategies will also be a key part of your responsibilities.
