About the position

As the Information Technology Manager at our well-established publishing and book wholesale distribution company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of our IT operations. With a rich history spanning 45 years, our organization is recognized for its stability and trustworthiness in the industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage a dedicated team while ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all IT-related systems, which includes a variety of key duties. You will ensure data security and implement robust backup and recovery procedures that are regularly monitored to protect our valuable information. Establishing and maintaining security policies will be essential to govern access to data, operating systems, and applications, thereby safeguarding our network. You will oversee the reliable operation of our software infrastructure, which encompasses network security, operating systems, productivity applications, and communication systems. Additionally, you will ensure the reliable operation of all hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and telephone systems. Keeping software updated in a timely manner is also a critical aspect of your responsibilities. Your role will involve projecting costs, purchasing, and efficiently installing new hardware and software as needed. Furthermore, you will provide desktop support and train staff to effectively utilize both software and hardware, fostering a knowledgeable and capable team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data security and implement backup and recovery procedures that are regularly monitored.
  • Establish and maintain security policies to govern access to data, operating systems, and applications.
  • Oversee the reliable operation of software, including network security, operating systems, productivity applications, and communication systems.
  • Ensure the reliable operation of all hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and telephone systems.
  • Keep software updated in a timely manner.
  • Project costs, purchase, and install new hardware and software efficiently.
  • Provide desktop support and train staff to effectively use software and hardware.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience managing a computer network.
  • Server Administration: Server 2019, Basic Linux, T-SQL.
  • Desktop Support: Microsoft Office 365, Printer maintenance.
  • Development: T-SQL, PHP.

  • Server Administration: Docker, Apache, Xen Orchestra, XO-Appliance, Security Camera Installation and Maintenance.
  • Desktop Support: Google Apps, Adobe Suite, QuickBooks Online, WordPress.
