About the position

The IT Manager at Mid Continent Controls, Inc. is responsible for supporting, managing, and executing the IT infrastructure of the organization. This hands-on role involves providing user support, maintaining systems, and overseeing various IT projects in a manufacturing environment. The IT Manager will work under the direction of the IT Director, who is not on-site, and will ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and user support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in deploying new hardware, software, and various IT systems/resources.
  • Installation, repair, and wiring of computer equipment and networks as needed.
  • Provide technical support to users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain backup systems with quarterly restore tests.
  • Perform daily and monthly reviews of the IT systems following a checklist of activities.
  • Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges, and security.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP system and support team members with the application(s).
  • Install, upgrade, and configure workstations, laptops, network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software, and file services.
  • Maintain various software/hardware systems that fall under the IT Infrastructure.
  • Respond to out-of-band tasks both during regular hours and on-call.
  • User training as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining computerized production floor equipment.
  • Maintain contact with system vendors to achieve maximum operation and utilization.

Requirements

  • A 4-year technical bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering required.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on technical support experience.
  • General technical knowledge including Microsoft Server, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Products, Office365 administration, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Enterprise Endpoint Protection, Scripting, Wireless Networks, and Router Management.
  • Knowledge of Cyber-Security best practices required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, company policies, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.
  • CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • Familiarity with basic MRP/CRM concepts and/or working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Management of Virtualization platforms (Nutanix or VMWare).
  • PHP / MySQL / MS SQL database administration experience.
  • Cisco Router configuration/administration experience.
  • Website Hosting and/or WordPress experience.
  • Linux experience.
