About the position

At Great Wolf, the IT Manager plays a crucial role in providing technical support and managing the systems at the lodge. This position reports directly to the Corporate IT Support Manager and has a dotted line to the General Manager of the property. The IT Manager is responsible for a variety of technical support tasks, including workstation and printer installation and maintenance throughout the resort, administering local servers, and monitoring network performance, hardware connectivity, and backups. Additionally, the IT Manager will assist in the budget planning process to define the systems needs at the property. The IT Manager will work closely with on-property staff to address systems-related issues pertaining to the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems. Proactive monitoring and administration of the network, workstation operating systems, security systems, and backups are essential duties of this role. The IT Manager will also be responsible for assembling, disassembling, repairing, installing, and de-installing computers and related equipment approved for use by the corporate office. Training employees on the use of systems to ensure compliance with company policies is another key responsibility. In addition to technical duties, the IT Manager will participate in job-related training, classes, conventions, seminars, and personal knowledge enrichment opportunities as directed. They will administer and enforce Great Wolf Resorts license agreements for compliance and budgetary accuracy, maintain accurate inventories of equipment, and ensure a clean and organized work area. The IT Manager will also assist the corporate IT team on projects and support-related issues, prioritize projects and support workload at the resort, and conduct regular training sessions to keep the knowledge base current among property staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and manage systems at the lodge.
  • Work closely with on-property staff on systems-related issues pertaining to the PMS and POS.
  • Proactively monitor and administer the network, workstation operating systems, security systems, backups, and servers.
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, install, and de-install computers and related equipment approved by the corporate office.
  • Supervise and train employees on the use of systems to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in job-related training, classes, conventions, seminars, and personal knowledge enrichment opportunities.
  • Administer and enforce GWR license agreements for compliance and budgetary accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and ensure a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist corporate IT on projects and support-related issues in the field or at the corporate office.
  • Prioritize projects and support workload at the resort.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the knowledge base current.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Four years of experience in hybrid networking, server, virtual and physical environments.
  • Strong support knowledge of O365, Microsoft Office, network technologies and concepts (TCP/IP, SMTP, Ethernet, Wide Area Networks), desktop/mobile OS, and hardware.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
