The IT Manager at Yale School of Medicine (YSM) plays a crucial role in addressing both existing and emerging technology needs within the institution. This position acts as a technology advisor, providing guidance and mentorship to IT team members to foster their professional development while advancing the priorities of the larger Technology Support Services team. The IT Manager is responsible for leading specific projects and initiatives, ensuring that the IT support teams are effectively monitored and managed. This includes adjusting staffing assignments as necessary to meet the demands of the workload. Additionally, the IT Manager collaborates closely with the YSM AV support team to coordinate and integrate support operations where feasible. In this role, the IT Manager provides supervision to a unit or group of operational or technical employees, establishing and delegating day-to-day tasks to meet departmental objectives. The position requires ensuring compliance with departmental and university policies, procedures, and internal controls, while also maintaining accountability for operational, financial, and staff resources. The IT Manager oversees segments of larger projects, developmental trainings, presentations, and communications, providing coaching, training, and mentorship to level 1 and 2 staff and/or non-exempt staff. This multifaceted role is essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT support services at YSM.
