About the position

The IT Manager at NJ Bio is responsible for setting up, managing, and troubleshooting technology systems to support the company's computer and software networks. This role involves ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, implementing cybersecurity measures, and collaborating with various departments to enhance IT operations. The IT Manager will also manage direct reports and oversee IT projects, vendor relationships, and data security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, manage, and troubleshoot technology systems for NJ Bio.
  • Respond to hardware problems and update system software.
  • Track data and communications on the NJ Bio network.
  • Support IT activities in a cGMP environment.
  • Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Lead incident response efforts and conduct security audits.
  • Conduct training programs on cybersecurity awareness.
  • Ensure IT systems comply with GMP standards.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams for compliance.
  • Evaluate and select vendors for IT solutions and services.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures for compliance.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of IT systems for compliance.
  • Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Develop and maintain data integrity protocols.
  • Plan and execute backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Provide leadership on best practices for cybersecurity.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies for IT systems.
  • Manage IT projects related to system implementations and upgrades.
  • Manage IT budgets and resources effectively.
  • Identify potential risks to IT systems and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as IT Specialist/IT Manager in a life science company.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a cGMP environment, including computerized systems qualification or validation.
  • In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
  • Oracle database experience.
  • Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing direct reports.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
