About the position

The IT/MIS Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting desktop hardware and software packages under the general supervision of the General Manager. This position is essential for supporting and maintaining various technology systems within the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate diligence and accuracy in their work, possessing strong problem-solving skills to effectively address issues and ensure the functionality of technology systems. The technician will be responsible for a range of tasks that include installing computer software and hardware, troubleshooting technology equipment, and assisting with the coordination of technology purchases. Additionally, the technician will help maintain data integrity and confidentiality on computer information systems, ensuring reliable backups to prevent data loss. Communication is key in this role, as the technician will interact with associates across the organization, management specialists, technical personnel, and vendors to facilitate problem-solving and meet technology needs for successful project execution. The position may also require being on call as needed to address urgent technology issues.

Responsibilities

  • Install computer software and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and repair technology equipment.
  • Assist with the coordination of purchases pertaining to computer software and hardware, telephone, and other technology systems.
  • Assist with maintaining data integrity and confidentiality on computer information systems.
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring reliable backups to prevent loss of information.
  • Communicate with associates across the organization, management specialists, technical personnel, and/or vendors to assist with problem-solving and ensure that technology needs are met for the streamlined success of projects.
  • Coordinate needs with individual departments and other duties as assigned.
  • Be on call as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in Information Technology

Nice-to-haves

  • Related experience with IT support, VOIP phones, Property Management Systems, POS Systems preferred with demonstrated abilities in providing support to end-users.
