About the position

Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented IT Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position is integral to supporting USCYBERCOM's internal command IT systems, which include unique cyberspace operations systems. The ideal candidate will possess a robust IT networking background and will be a key contributor to our mission. As an IT Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and defining IT networks for both new and existing computer systems that support the command or enterprise. Your role will involve performing complex systems development and IT infrastructure design work, which may encompass logic network design, physical network design, and manufacturing and development cost projections. You will also engage in IT systems engineering, evaluating new network technologies and providing recommendations to project managers on how to integrate these technologies into the existing network infrastructure. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing comprehensive documentation for new or existing systems, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders. This position is part of our Federal Solutions team, which delivers essential resources to our US government customers, ensuring the success of missions globally. Responsibilities

  • Design and define IT networks for new or existing computer systems supporting the command or enterprise.
  • Perform complex systems development and IT infrastructure design work, including logic network design and physical network design.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding their integration into the existing network.
  • Develop documentation on new or existing systems.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI + CI Poly
  • Experience building large-scale CI/CD infrastructure
  • Experience using cloud virtualization platforms like vSphere or ARIA
  • Experience using common source control or CI/CD frameworks (i.e. Gitlab, Bitbucket, Jenkins)
  • Experience using automated testing frameworks like Robot framework, Pytest, and GoogleTest
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell)
  • Experience utilizing Podman/Docker
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with a focus on the creation of technical documentation for testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of IT Network Engineer or Software Developer/Software Developer in Test experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
  • Knowledge of cross-compilation and experience building/using them on various architectures (PPC, MIPS, x86, ARM, RISC-V, etc.)
  • Experience with management products like Jira and Confluence
  • Extensive experience parsing user stories or requirements to create testable objectives and measures of performance that will lead to fully tested software products
  • GIAC Cloud Security Automation Certified.
