About the position

The position at CommonSpirit Health involves providing operational support and evaluation for new products and technologies to meet corporate business requirements. The role focuses on creating test cases, producing test scripts, and documenting complex test processes while ensuring adherence to quality standards. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining existing environments, participating in projects for technology enhancements, and providing exceptional customer service to end users and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational support and evaluation for new products and technologies.
  • Creates test cases based on technical analysis of specifications.
  • Produces test scripts and regression test packs for software testing.
  • Interprets, executes, and documents complex test scripts.
  • Records and analyzes actions and results, maintaining a defect register.
  • Reviews test results and modifies tests as necessary.
  • Provides reports on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues.
  • Assesses and analyzes release components and provides input to scheduling.
  • Carries out builds and tests in coordination with testers and specialists.
  • Ensures release processes and procedures are maintained.
  • Provides advice and guidance on methods and tools adherence.
  • Tailors processes in line with agreed standards and evaluations.
  • Participates in on-call rotations and provides customer service.
  • Performs patching and code deployments across environments.
  • Participates in projects for technology enhancements and upgrades.
  • Conducts performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Initiates change management requests adhering to IT CM processes.
  • Designs, codes, verifies, tests, and documents complex programs/scripts.
  • Assists with monitoring and alerting processes across platforms.
  • Identifies automation opportunities and implements solutions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of CommonSpirit Health business processes.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Technology, or Business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field.
  • 5+ years of experience with Cisco Route Switch and Wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience with datacenter and MDF/IDF closet construction design.
  • Experience or understanding of Cisco Nexus platform preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of WAN protocols and topology: MPLS, QoS, BGP, Metro Optical Ethernet.
  • Proven abilities in problem management, process analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Certifications: PCCT or PCNSA preferred.
  • Experience with implementing new firewall hardware using change management processes.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems preferred.
  • 2+ years technical project experience in designing and implementing solutions.
  • Experience in Windows Office (Word, Excel, Visio) required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in enterprise-scale Information/Network security engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Coding experience and proficiency (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • F5 experience and proficiency (LTM, ASM, DNS).
  • Experience with Palo Alto Network administration with Panorama.
  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewall administration.
