About the position

We are seeking an Information Technology (IT) Network Engineer who will support the agency's Network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure network connectivity is highly available, reliable and secure. This position is 100% onsite, no remote work. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the agency's LAN/WAN network infrastructure across all remote sites.
  • Configure routers and switches to ensure reliable network operations in the data centers and remote sites.
  • Manage and secure the agency's WiFi systems.
  • Manage all network firewalls to secure the infrastructure from security breaches.
  • Implement IPS, IDS and port security to prevent unauthorized access to the network.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and address all network related issues.
  • Design, implement and enforce network segmentation and security perimeters.
  • Implement network monitoring tools to detect bottlenecks.
  • Upgrade firmware, apply patches and keep all network hardware up to date with the manufacturer's recommended code.
  • Provide after-hours project support and escalation for network issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 5-7 years of verifiable relevant work experience.
  • Technical Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, ECMS.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a network engineer in a similar environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting Routers and layer 3 switches.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing next generation firewalls.
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting WiFi Standards 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax.
  • Minimum of 3 years implementing network segmentation and security.
  • Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, VLANs, and site-to-site VPNs.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Experience with conducting routine network maintenance and optimization.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
