The Network Engineer's role at CommonSpirit Health is pivotal in providing technology leadership for the development, integration, and support of Technology Services. This position focuses on specific network-related engineering activities, particularly in the Local Area Network (LAN) domain. The Network Engineer will drive successful solution adoption from the initial technology planning and investment decisions through to implementation and ongoing operational support for one or several medium complexity portfolios that are specific to network activities. This role is essential in improving the availability, security, compliance, interoperability, performance, and technology cost of assigned portfolios and platforms. Qualified candidates will need to possess a blend of business, technical, and leadership skills. They must be advocates for change and innovation, quick learners, results-oriented, and capable of creating compelling technology roadmaps. The Network Engineer will be responsible for seeking out and synthesizing IT and healthcare trends into multi-year technology investment plans. Mentoring and influencing others in a matrixed team environment is critical for success in this role. The engineer will create, implement, and support several IT portfolios that accelerate the transformation of Technology Services, aligning with the organization's growth strategy and mission. The position requires the ability to travel onsite to various facilities to assess readiness, assist with project pre-work tasks, perform network implementation work, and oversee the work being done by third-party implementation teams. Collaboration within a team environment is essential, as is the ability to take direction from team leads to ensure projects are completed successfully and on time. The Network Engineer will also participate in focused proof-of-concept activities for technology assessments, communicate findings, develop portfolio roadmaps, prioritize investments, and ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions. Adherence to IT strategy and standards in design processes for third-party services, products acquired, internal services, integrated hosted solutions, and hardware/software vendors is also a key responsibility.
