About the position

The IT Network Field Technician position at GCT in Atlanta, TX is a hands-on role focused on servicing, diagnosing, and repairing network-related issues on-site. The technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks including network cabling, troubleshooting hardware and software, and maintaining client relationships. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently and effectively under pressure while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for network systems.
• Document all service calls methodically for accurate historical records.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for client problem resolution.
• Install new workstations and migrate programs, data, and settings.
• Install firewalls and commercial wireless networks.
• Provide break/fix support for POS, VOIP, cameras, and access points.
• Manage client rapport for ongoing long-term relationships.
• Assist other technicians in the field as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in networking, VOIP, and POS systems.
• Proficient in network cabling, including testing, repairing, or replacing.
• Basic knowledge of computer security.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
