About the position

The Network / IT Project Coordinator will work closely with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) project team to manage various aspects of IT network projects. This role involves task management, communication with stakeholders, scheduling, risk management, documentation, progress monitoring, issue resolution, and reporting. The coordinator will also provide administrative support and perform site visits to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking and completing various tasks in a timely manner such as change orders, RFCs, and other project related documentation.
  • Serving as a liaison between project stakeholders, team members, and management, facilitating effective communication.
  • Collaborating with the project manager to maintain project schedules, ensuring deadlines and milestones are being met.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact project success.
  • Creating and maintaining project documentation, such as plans, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Tracking project progress, identifying deviations from the plan, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Addressing and resolving project issues and challenges in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Preparing regular project status reports for stakeholders, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Visiting school sites to perform job walks, inventories, job start meetings, etc.
  • Providing administrative support to the project manager, such as scheduling meetings, managing project files, procurement of equipment, working with various departments, reviewing estimates/proposals, and processing invoices.

Requirements

  • 5-6 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in IT or network projects.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between stakeholders and team members.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for scheduling and documentation.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution.
  • Experience in preparing project documentation and status reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with educational institutions or school district operations.
  • Experience with procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of IT network infrastructure and related technologies.
