About the position

The Network Security Engineer position is a critical role within the Infrastructure and Operations organization at Dexian, aimed at enhancing the security of both on-premises and cloud-based computer networks. This role requires a highly skilled individual who can evolve into a leading subject matter expert, particularly in Investor and Advisor themed technology, while also enabling cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, where they will be responsible for identifying requirements and facilitating the implementation of security measures, all while adhering to established change control and release processes. In this role, the Network Security Engineer will be expected to deliver a hands-on, white-glove customer service experience across all environments. This includes maintaining the integrity and security of networks from a security perspective, which encompasses firewalls, DDoS protection, Network Access Control (NAC), and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The engineer will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network security issues, as well as design and implement robust network security solutions. Collaboration with project managers will be essential to ensure project tasks are completed effectively, and the engineer will assist in coordinating changes across multiple systems. The position also involves following and contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and standards that govern network security practices. The successful candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and engineering skills, enabling them to work independently and proactively on various initiatives. Agile and Scrum experience is considered a plus, as the role may involve working in an agile environment to adapt to changing project needs.

Responsibilities

• Promote hands-on, white glove customer service experience supporting all environments.
• Maintain on-prem and cloud-based computer networks from a Network Security perspective (Firewalls, DDoS, NAC, VPN, etc.).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems, as well as design and implement network security solutions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers around project tasks.
• Assist with coordinating changes across multiple systems.
• Follow and contribute to policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience.
• General understanding of firewall technology both on-premises and cloud.
• Experience managing Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls highly desired.
• Knowledge of native firewalls in AWS and Azure is a plus.
• Working knowledge of network security products such as DDoS, proxy, VPN, firewall orchestration is a plus.
• Ability to work with developers on firewall rule creation and troubleshoot logs for remediation.
• Familiarity working with security-related technologies in a regulated environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills to assist teams in isolating the root cause of incidents and issues.
• Understanding of Network Security Best Practices.
• Able to work on efforts independently and progress in a proactive fashion.
