About the position

The Network Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of computer networks within the organization. This position is responsible for providing essential help desk support, which includes analyzing network requirements and establishing computer networks across single or multiple locations. The specialist will also be tasked with configuring computer hardware and software to optimize network communication, ensuring that all systems are functioning effectively and efficiently. In this role, the Network Support Specialist will provide technical support to users by researching and resolving questions, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining workstation and LAN performance. This involves diagnosing and addressing issues by identifying problems, researching solutions, and guiding users through corrective steps. The specialist will also engage in professional development training, identifying issues and recommending effective solutions to enhance system performance. Additionally, the Network Support Specialist will provide technical support for all computer peripherals, including surveillance cameras, AV equipment, copiers, printers, and webcams. They will assist with AV or IT setup for special events, oversee systems security and imaging, and manage endpoints and deployment software. The role also includes managing Cisco Call Manager and InformaCast, communicating effectively with outside vendors, and collaborating with installers on special construction projects. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the organization's IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to users by researching and resolving questions, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining workstation and LAN performance.

  • Assist with AV or IT setup for special events.
  • Oversee systems security and imaging.
  • Manage Endpoints and deployment software.
  • Manage Cisco Call Manager and InformaCast.
  • Communicate effectively with outside vendors and collaborate with installers on special construction projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active participant of a Protestant church whose doctrine is consistent with the Westminster Christian School Statement of Belief.
  • Alignment with the Westminster mission/philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus either two years of relevant experience or two years of college education.
  • Industry certifications such as A+, N+, Security+, CCNA.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal communication and phone skills.
  • Team player.
  • Experience with operating Data Center, network systems, VMware, ESXI, and storage systems.
  • Client-based quality focus.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, data confidentiality, and computer ethics.
