About the position

The position involves the design, engineering, deployment, and maintenance of high-availability and secure Enterprise Information Technology network systems and services specifically for Classified Network Environments. The role requires the individual to engineer, implement, and maintain automation technologies and infrastructure as code (IaC) services to support various environments including network hardware, virtual, container-based, and commercial cloud-hosted systems. Responsibilities include technical planning encompassing cost, capacity, and logistics, as well as architecture, design, implementation, configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and monitoring of network services and solutions. The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit is responsible for delivering critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data, and missions. This unit provides a comprehensive approach to managing risk across the enterprise for current and future information environments where business and missions execute. The use of innovative tools and robust processes is applied to ensure mission and business success. In this role, the individual will be responsible for the engineering of Enterprise Information Technology networking systems and services in support of Engineering, Software Development, and corporate initiatives. This includes planning and administration of IT infrastructure to meet ever-changing business requirements and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services. The position also involves researching and providing recommendations for advanced networking technologies, developing and documenting policies and procedures for consistent infrastructure management, and working directly with Software Developers and Engineers to provide sustainable and scalable Enterprise Platforms and Services. The individual will participate in the Software Development Lifecycle and Engineering processes to meet diverse and complex Information Technology needs, develop and apply network management policies and processes through automation and advanced technologies, and administer the strategy for the operations and support of the IT network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, deploy, and maintain high-availability and secure Enterprise Information Technology network systems and services for Classified Network Environments.
  • Engineer, implement, and maintain automation technologies and infrastructure as code (IaC) services.
  • Conduct technical planning including cost, capacity, and logistics for network services.
  • Research and provide recommendations for advanced networking technologies.
  • Develop and document policies and procedures for consistent infrastructure management.
  • Work with Software Developers and Engineers to provide sustainable and scalable Enterprise Platforms and Services.
  • Participate in the Software Development Lifecycle and Engineering processes.
  • Develop and apply network management policies and processes through automation and advanced technologies.
  • Administer the strategy for the operations and support of the IT network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate physical environment usage and planning across geographies.
  • Provide input into how costs are measured, tracked, and reported.
  • Develop detailed design of hardware and software infrastructure to meet architecture and project development requirements.
  • Administer network hardware and NOS build standards.
  • Implement and enforce security policies for protecting data and shared network resources.
  • Maintain and enforce the Configuration and Change Management of Enterprise Systems.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of complex problems.
  • Create key performance indicators and metrics reports.
  • Prepare and present technical content to peers, management, and customers.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and across the company.

Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance and DOD 8570 Requirements is required.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Cisco IOS, Nexus OS, Palo Alto GUI, Juniper OS, F5 Load-balancers.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to contribute to the success of small teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active CI Polygraph.
  • Experience working in a Classified Network Environment.
  • Experience in related disciplines such as network engineering, change management, integration, configuration/data management.
  • Knowledge of security requirements such as DISA STIGs.
  • Knowledge of network performance monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
