About the position

The IT Network Technician position at Rouses Enterprises LLC is designed to provide comprehensive corporate office support, focusing on various IT-related tasks. The primary responsibilities include project and request implementation, hardware repair, and application support across the company's network infrastructure, workstations, printers, and other IT-supported systems. The technician will be involved in researching, planning, preparing, installing, and processing the necessary software and hardware to meet project demands. This role also requires providing backup support to the primary technician, ensuring end-user support and network repair are effectively managed. In addition to technical support, the technician will manage inventory by picking up, shipping, and receiving necessary items to support ongoing projects and service responsibilities. The role involves holding service providers accountable for project deliverables and addressing any performance issues that may arise. Effective time management and prioritization of personal tasks and travel are crucial to meet the demands of the projects and services. The technician will also contribute to developing standard operating procedures by providing feedback and input based on their experiences. The position requires a solid understanding of network functionality, computer hardware and software, and project management principles. Familiarity with retail support systems, particularly in a Microsoft Windows and VMware environment, is essential. The technician will also need to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities, particularly in using office applications like Word and Excel. This role is pivotal in ensuring that IT services run smoothly and efficiently within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Project/Request Implementation - research, plan, prepare, install and process required software/hardware
  • Service/Support - back-up on call to primary technician providing end user support and network repair
  • Application Support - research, diagnose, and support applications i.e., Wireless, VMWare, Office 365, etc
  • Manage Inventory - pick up, ship, and receive necessary inventory to support projects, requests, and service responsibilities
  • Manage Service Providers - hold service providers accountable to project deliverables, address performance issues, etc.
  • Manage Schedule - managing and prioritizing personal tasks and travel to meet project and service demands
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures - providing feedback, input, and/or developing standards

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in computer networking (Preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in LAN (Preferred)
  • Valid Confidential Security Clearance (Preferred)
  • Ability to commute to Schriever, LA 70395 (Preferred)
  • Ability to relocate to Schriever, LA 70395 before starting work (Required)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management principles
  • Familiarity with retail support systems including time and attendance, point of sale, scales, etc.
