About the position

The IT Operations Analyst I-IV position at the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is a critical role responsible for monitoring and maintaining a variety of IT systems across multiple data centers. This position requires a proactive approach to support the corporation's major software applications, ensuring that they operate efficiently and effectively. The analyst will work directly with users, customers, and vendors, fostering a collaborative environment to address and resolve issues related to IT systems. In this role, the analyst will develop and maintain a consistent, high-quality, customer-focused approach when interacting with AHFC's business partners, clients, and other departments. A deep understanding of AHFC's business practices and processes is essential, as the analyst will need to align IT operations with the corporation's goals. The position involves performing workflow analysis, process mapping, documentation, and implementing workflows to enhance operational efficiency. The analyst will also be responsible for application administration functions, engaging in a team-oriented approach that includes peer review and backup processes. This includes troubleshooting application and environment issues, developing documentation, and applying necessary upgrades and updates. The role requires the analyst to develop subject matter expertise in the major software applications utilized by the corporation's business units, ensuring that they can provide effective support and administration. Additionally, the analyst will perform operator and analyst duties for client-side devices, disaster recovery systems, and participate in the department's request, event, and change management processes. Overall, this position is vital for maintaining the health and functionality of AHFC's IT systems and supporting the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain a consistent, high quality, customer focused approach when interacting with AHFC's business partners, clients & customers; other AHFC departments.
  • Develop working knowledge of AHFC business practices & processes as well as understanding its goals as a corporation.
  • Perform workflow analysis, process mapping, documentation, and workflow implementation.
  • Perform all application administration functions using a team approach with peer review & backup as a required component.
  • Engage directly with vendors & employees to troubleshoot application & environment issues, develop documentation & apply upgrades/updates.
  • Engage directly with development teams to create & modify reports as well as adjust interfaces.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in the use of & administration of all of the major software applications used by the business units in the corporation.
  • Perform operator/analyst duties for client-side devices such as VoIP phones.
  • Perform operator/analyst duties for DR system(s).
  • Perform administrative duties (for applications & environment) such as granting & revoking permissions based on requests that have been authorized.
  • Participate in the department's request, event and change management processes.
  • Assist with environment and general system health monitoring of multiple datacenters.
  • Maintenance and general upkeep of the corporate intranet/internet sites.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IT systems and operations within a corporate environment.
