About the position

The IT Operations Analyst I position at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is a critical role within the IT Operations Center. This position is responsible for monitoring core services and infrastructure across various teams within the organization. The analyst will utilize enterprise monitoring tools to oversee critical sites, as well as production and non-production environments, ensuring that any failures or alarm conditions are promptly communicated to the appropriate teams. The role also involves reviewing the status of scheduled backup jobs, restarting failed jobs as necessary, and notifying the relevant teams of any failures. In addition to monitoring, the IT Operations Analyst will draft, audit, and send IT communications to the enterprise, providing transparency during ongoing major incidents. The position also supports corporate and infrastructure security policies, ensuring compliance and safety across the organization. The analyst will be involved in situation and incident management, analyzing incoming information such as alerts, tickets, and customer reports to identify incidents and escalate them as needed. If an incident is escalated, the analyst will open appropriate bridge lines and notify the necessary teams and vendors. The role includes server, network, and application administration tasks, such as running diagnostics, scripts, patching, and performing troubleshooting or maintenance tasks. The analyst will also be responsible for recognizing symptoms of hardware or software failures and reporting them to the appropriate teams. This position may require performing basic corrective or troubleshooting tasks under the guidance of technical teams or through pre-approved procedures. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging role within the IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor core services and infrastructure for various teams across the organization.
  • Utilize enterprise monitoring tools to monitor critical sites and production/non-production environments.
  • Alert appropriate teams on failure or alarm conditions.
  • Review the status of scheduled backup jobs and restart failed jobs as necessary.
  • Draft, audit, and send IT communications to provide transparency during major incidents.
  • Support corporate and infrastructure security policies.
  • Analyze incoming information for evidence of incidents and escalate as necessary.
  • Open appropriate bridge lines and notify resolving teams during escalated incidents.
  • Run diagnostics, scripts, patching, and other troubleshooting or maintenance tasks.
  • Perform symptom recognition and first-level reporting of hardware or software failures.
  • Perform basic corrective or troubleshooting tasks under the direction of technical teams.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical role, analyzing data and creating reports.
  • 2-3 years of experience managing relationships with internal and/or external customers or accounts.
  • Organized and process-oriented with excellent prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic datacenter facilities and processes.
  • Understanding of basic server, storage, and network hardware.
