About the position

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company dedicated to designing, building, securing, and operating advanced software solutions that enhance mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We are currently seeking an IT Operations Analyst to join our team in a collaborative and innovative environment, specifically supporting our Army Geospatial Center (AGC) program located in Fort Belvoir, VA. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services within a classified government facility. The IT Operations Analyst will work closely with the government Operations Manager for the IT group, taking on a variety of responsibilities that include monitoring the environmental conditions of server rooms, such as heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, and space management. The analyst will coordinate with Facilities as necessary to ensure optimal conditions are maintained. Additionally, the role involves supporting hardware allocation planning and managing space to ensure that all items entering the server rooms are properly documented and have an approved elevation drawing indicating their designated locations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating detailed reports on the used and available space within server closets and individual racks, which is essential for future expansion planning. Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the Logistics Specialist is crucial to ensure that all inventory movements, tracking, and equipment storage are accurate and up-to-date. The analyst will manage and maintain hand holder receipts as needed and develop a lifecycle management plan for all IT equipment. Maintaining configuration control documentation, including floor plans, patch panels, and network connectivity diagrams, is another key responsibility. The analyst will ensure that network cabling is planned, executed, documented, and maintained according to applicable security requirements. The role also requires the development and implementation of processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the organization’s IT operations, ensuring that all operations support processes are accurately documented and coordinated with the appropriate SMEs. In addition, the IT Operations Analyst will create and manage a document repository for multiple classified networks, ensuring a consistent directory structure and naming conventions. The role includes maintaining and tracking hardware and software warranties, supporting the Government COMSEC Custodian for IT/IS support, and coordinating with IT Logistics for equipment disposal, updating relevant documentation accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor environmental aspects of server rooms including proper heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, and space management; coordinate with Facilities as needed.
  • Support hardware allocation planning and space management ensuring that all items entering the server rooms have an approved elevation drawing depicting their designated location.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed report on used and available space in the closet and individual racks for future expansion planning.
  • Work closely with SMEs and the Logistics Specialist to ensure that all inventory movement, tracking, and equipment storage are up-to-date and correct; manage and maintain hand holder receipts as needed.
  • Develop and implement lifecycle management plan for all IT equipment.
  • Maintain configuration control documentation in Server Rooms.
  • Ensure network cabling is planned, executed, documented, managed, and maintained IAW applicable security requirements.
  • Ensure all closets and rack spaces are controlled IAW organization SOPs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes/workflow and SOPs for organization's IT operations.
  • Coordinate all operations support processes and procedures directly with the appropriate SMEs to maintain accurate documentation, standard operating procedures, and drawings for customer.
  • Implement and make recommendations for improving support processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with IT Logistics and requisite SMEs to develop efficient processes for moves, adds, and changes.
  • Identify and create inventory list of core IT Operations documentation and SOPs; update, maintain and manage list.
  • Create, manage, and maintain document repository for multiple classified networks, creating consistent directory/file structure and naming conventions.
  • Maintain and track hardware and software warranties.
  • Support the Government COMSEC Custodian for IT/IS support, providing two-person control and serving as an alternate POC for COMSEC between government facilities.
  • Coordinate with IT Logistics and other requisite technicians for equipment disposal; update TSP, drawings, and other related documentation.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • 4+ years' experience in the Information Technology field
  • BA or BS degree in Information Technology or similar discipline
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all users and work closely with other technical staff or independently
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively under pressure
  • Strong time management and resource management capabilities
