About the position

At Cencora, our IT Operations Automation Engineer/Developer II plays a crucial role in the IT Infrastructure Automation team, which is dedicated to delivering robust, scalable, and innovative solutions that enhance day-to-day operations and improve efficiencies for our stakeholders and the business. This position is pivotal in ensuring that we not only meet but exceed customer expectations through collaborative discussions and proactive analysis of trends to identify future opportunities that align with team and business objectives. Your responsibilities will include providing end-to-end automation solutions, starting from the requirement gathering and discovery phase all the way to production roll-out. You will be expected to develop solutions using industry best practices while adhering to internal standards, and provide technical insights during the design and development stages. Clear communication of project status, risks, and challenges to stakeholders is essential, as is presenting iterative demonstrations to showcase development progress. In this role, you will leverage your experience to bridge the knowledge gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are built to 'fail gracefully' in the event of unexpected errors. You will also be responsible for resolving defects and performance issues discovered during testing, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and managing rollout phases. Working within project planning constraints, you will communicate any identified project risks and issues to the project manager, providing valuable inputs to the change control process.
