About the position

Apex Systems, a leading technology solutions provider, is seeking an IT Operations Data Analyst to support reporting, analytics, and data visualization activities that drive performance and quality of programs and projects across an IT delivery organization. This position is crucial for ensuring that data standards are met and that the systems are configured correctly to support operational needs. The role involves working closely with Subject Matter Experts and system administrators to enable automation in reporting and to ensure that all system permissions are correctly established and maintained. The analyst will also be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data related to vehicle utilization and will work with Fleet leadership to create utilization standards based on the data metrics collected. The IT Operations Data Analyst will serve as part of the project team to obtain the Fed Ramp certification process, which is essential for compliance and operational integrity. Daily responsibilities include consolidating and tracking mileage requirements, ensuring that reports from manual submissions are completed, and following up with the Fleet Management Branch. The analyst will also aid in operational planning by managing existing data on average stop times, idle times, and forecasting maintenance downtimes. This role requires a strong understanding of data integration and database management, as well as experience in performing data analysis and visualization using tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the analyst will need to convey complex data insights to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain system permissions from field locations.
  • Ensure all system permissions are correct, including personnel leaving or needing access.
  • Enable automation in reporting by collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and system administrators.
  • Ensure data standards for successful implementation into the fleet program.
  • Serve as part of the project team to obtain the Fed Ramp certification process.
  • Create data metrics and collect, process, and analyze data, including vehicle utilization.
  • Work with Fleet leadership to create utilization standards based on data metrics.
  • Ensure system configurations and connectivity are enabled in all fleet systems.
  • Consolidate and track mileage requirements.
  • Complete reports from manual submissions and follow up with Fleet Management Branch.
  • Consolidate and aid in operational planning by managing existing data on average stop times and idle times.
  • Collect and analyze vehicle asset level data.
  • Perform analysis in Tableau and through different systems.
  • Analyze vehicle operator data reports to meet agency reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen, with or eligible for a DHS EOD clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, including reporting and BI development.
  • Strong understanding of data integration and database management; aggregated reporting, analytics, and visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience performing data analysis and visualization in tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Expert in the use of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel (including pivot tables, macros, graphs, charts, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
