About the position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Operations Engineer (Level 1) to join our dynamic IT team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to grow their career in IT operations. The IT Operations Engineer will assist in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance, security, and availability of IT systems and cloud-based resources.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Implement best practices for cloud cost optimization and security.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine operational tasks.
  • Work with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Respond to system outages and security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation for system configurations and operational procedures.
  • Provide regular performance and security reports to management.
  • Work closely with development, support, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless system integration and operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or a related field (internships or relevant coursework considered).
  • AWS services and relevant workflows.
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and common software applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or similar are a plus.
