About the position

The IT Operations Manager at First Hawaiian Bank is responsible for leading the IT Operations team to ensure the efficient and reliable performance of infrastructure systems. This role focuses on maintaining day-to-day IT operations, optimizing system availability, and managing resources to support business operations. The IT Operations Manager acts as the primary problem manager in the incident management process and coordinates production support while responding to audit requests. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT Operations team to ensure efficient and reliable performance of infrastructure systems.
  • Maintain day-to-day IT operations and optimize system availability.
  • Manage resources to support business operations effectively.
  • Act as the primary problem manager in the incident management process.
  • Coordinate production support and respond to audit requests.
  • Implement process improvements through automation.
  • Manage projects successfully and demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the Information Technology field supporting and maintaining infrastructure/applications.
  • 5 years of management experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery architecture including data replication, RPO, and RTO.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, Power Shell, Group Policy Object, Office 365, and Cisco Networking.
  • Familiarity with networking principles and protocols such as TCP/IP, ISIS/OSPF, BGP routing protocols, MPLS overlays, and Layer 3 VPNs.
  • Experience in building cloud-based network infrastructures and managing interoperability connectivity (Azure, AWS, OCI).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and end-users.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and implement process improvements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous IT Infrastructure, IT Management, or IT Business Operations experience.
  • Familiarity with legal and technical issues involving vendor contract negotiations.
  • In-depth experience with virtualization solutions.
