About the position

The Major Command Coordination Center (MCCC) Operations Support Specialist at Leidos plays a crucial role in supporting the AFNCR IT Services program. This position involves coordinating and maintaining communications between various internal and external service providers to ensure situational awareness over the AFDW portion of the AFIN. The specialist will represent AFDW priorities, evaluate directives, and ensure adherence to project quality standards while advising leadership on operational impacts of cyber orders.

Responsibilities

  • Represents AFDW equities and priorities to the AFIN Mission Assurance Center (AMAC), DoD and AF Component.
  • Evaluate orders / directives to assess applicability to the mission, including scope of impacted missions and internal tasked organizations.
  • Engage various technical experts and mission partners to create a coherent picture of overall risk, level of effort, completion criteria, timeline, and mission impact of downward directed actions.
  • Coordinate, track and report on all cyber messages, orders and directives issued through Geographic and Functional Combatant Commands to senior stakeholders.
  • Translate senior leader guidance and direction into appropriate internal actions with minimal follow-up.
  • Assess if all required actions to close an order are complete and meet stakeholder / Enterprise quality criteria.
  • Coordinate schedules to facilitate completion of tasks and deliverables, briefings/presentations, and project reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to project quality standards and review deliverables.
  • Advise AFDW/CC, AFDW/A3/5/6, and 844 CG/CC on completion of cyber orders or inability to complete assigned tasks pertaining to AFNET, PMO, and AFDW-unique systems as required/directed by the AFDW/CC or delegated authority.
  • Advise AFDW Leadership, MAJCOM/CCs, AFCYBER, DISA J6, on operational impacts of cyber orders to component missions.
  • Coordinate and review Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) with Geographic and Functional Combatant Commands to resolve operational impact issues when relief of orders is granted.
  • Ensure POA&Ms are completed for any requests for relief and/or mitigations.
  • Evaluate if a POA&M is actionable in the timeframe stated and that timeframe and plan is acceptable in relation to the risk associated with it.
  • Provide direct follow-up with the owning organizations to keep them on the agreed timelines.
  • Escalate to senior government if the waiver / POA&M owner is unresponsive or uncooperative.
  • Recommend alternate solutions or disconnection / quarantine actions.
  • Create and foster key stakeholder relationships with internal and external partners to drive timely and appropriate mission response.
  • Act as AFNCR representative with external support agencies to deconflict unclear guidance and actions with Geographic and Functional Combatant Commands.
  • Must be available for a 40-hour work week with the potential for off hours on-call response.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4+ years of related experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Security+ce or equivalent level certification.
  • Currently possess a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Know how to track all Directives from USCYBERCOM or JFHQ-DODIN.
  • Proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to brief status to leadership.
  • Familiarity with ACT, ACAS, Vulnerabilities.
