About the position

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking an IT Operations Technician for KXXV, a role that is essential for supporting the installation and maintenance of various employee equipment and systems. This position involves configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading computer systems hardware and software. The IT Ops Tech II will be responsible for administering and maintaining the security of operating systems, ensuring that all systems are secure and functioning optimally. Additionally, the technician will restore files or systems by designing, writing, and implementing backup procedures, which are critical for data integrity and recovery. In this role, the technician will provide operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment, which includes application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices. The technician will also perform recovery procedures, schedule backups, and monitor batch processes to ensure that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure, especially in a high-security environment where adherence to company policies is paramount. The work environment is flexible, requiring the technician to be available for various shifts, including holidays, weekends, and evenings. Some moderate lifting may be required, and occasional overtime may be necessary to meet operational demands. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Requirements
