About the position

We are seeking an individual with a great attitude and personality to join our IT department and contribute to our day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills and be comfortable interacting with both customers and employees. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow within our team. This position is not a software developer position, but rather focuses on IT operations and support. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up new users, integrating hardware, and collaborating with vendor support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues. Additionally, the role involves installing and configuring operating systems, performing OS patching, and documenting rack configurations including IP addresses, hostnames, and cable diagrams. General troubleshooting and activating/documenting application and OS licenses are also key responsibilities. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can follow directions and write detailed documentation, while also being able to work with minimal supervision once trained. Punctuality and consistent attendance are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up new users
  • Integrating hardware (boxing, unboxing, racking, unracking)
  • Collaborating with vendor support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues
  • Installing and configuring operating systems
  • Performing OS patching
  • Documenting rack configurations (IP addresses, hostnames, cable diagrams)
  • Conducting general troubleshooting
  • Activating and documenting application and OS licenses

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Management
  • Software troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others and management
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions
  • Ability to write detailed documentation
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision once trained
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with VOIP
