About the position

The IT Ops Tech III at E.W. Scripps Company is responsible for supporting the installation and maintenance of employee equipment and systems, including desktop computers, mobile phones, faxes, and printers. This role involves configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading computer systems hardware and software, as well as providing operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment.

Responsibilities

• Configures, installs, maintains and upgrades computer systems hardware and software.
• Administers and maintains security of operating systems.
• Handles mobile phone deployments, general support, and troubleshooting.
• Restores files or systems by designing, writing, and implementing backup procedures.
• Provides operational support for application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices.
• Performs recovery procedures, scheduling and backups, and monitors batch processes.
• Supports miscellaneous IT tasks, projects, and on-call support.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in IT support.
• Proficient in basic system administration tools and processes.
• Strong computer networking skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to conform to a high-security environment and execute security policies.
• Ability to work in stressful situations and multi-task as necessary.
• Some knowledge in TV Broadcast/Productions is preferred.
• Understanding of network/fiber/coax cabling is required.
• Ability to run and terminate cables when required.
