About the position

The IT/OT Application Developer role at Capgemini involves developing responsive web-based solutions for manufacturing applications using the Ignition software platform. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to define requirements and design solutions that meet business needs while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance. The developer will also provide technical guidance, develop documentation, and work independently to bring ideas from concept to reality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive web-based solutions for manufacturing applications using the Ignition software platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, IT, and business stakeholders, to define requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure that solutions are secure, reliable, and scalable, and meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Develop documentation for OT solutions, including technical specifications, user guides, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other teams, including IT, engineering, and operations.
  • Collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proactively guide the technical team in problem solving.

Requirements

  • Has delivered multiple solutions solving real-world challenges with modular, scalable design principles that follow robust error handling, are optimized for real-time performance, and are easy to maintain and support across diverse devices and industrial environments.
  • Fluency in interfacing with external data sources, via SQL, REST API, BAPI, etc.
  • Solid experience in UI/UX design and implementation, including HTML5, CSS, Javascript, with a portfolio showcasing robust, clean, intuitive, user-friendly design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in OT systems and architecture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Ignition (Perspective) and/or Mendix
  • Experience with industrial historians (e.g. Canary) and OPC data (e.g. Kepware)
  • Understanding and experience working with MES, SCADA and HMI.
