About the position

The IT Pharmacy Manager/Product Owner is responsible for overseeing operational and technical initiatives within the IT department to support the University of Vermont Health Network Pharmacy departments. This role involves managing pharmacy information systems, collaborating with various teams to enhance IT Pharmacy applications, and ensuring operational efficiency and satisfaction among users. The manager will lead project planning, resource allocation, and communication efforts to optimize workflows and support patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of operational initiatives and programs within IT for the pharmacy departments.
  • Manage technical resources necessary for clinical and non-clinical applications.
  • Maintain and operate pharmacy information systems and assist with software implementation and integration.
  • Collaborate with the IT Pharmacy Team and other stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Manage upgrade processes, define metrics, and ensure operational processes are efficient and effective.
  • Build and maintain strategic third-party relationships to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Develop project plans, assign resources, and coordinate support, testing, and training for IT strategies.
  • Identify and resolve issues while managing resources to meet organizational initiatives and end-user needs.
  • Facilitate integration of features between applications and optimize technical designs for interdisciplinary end-users.
  • Communicate status updates and collaborate with leadership on maintenance and updates to support patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, pharmacy, finance, nursing, health administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience.
  • 7 years of experience in healthcare, healthcare operations, information technology, or operational responsibilities in another industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent, and complex projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and motivate teams to achieve high results.
  • Technical application support experience.
