About the position

The IT Portfolio Manager will oversee and manage a portfolio of information technology projects within a healthcare provider environment. This role requires extensive experience in project management, coaching, and mentoring team members, as well as the ability to facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams. The position demands a strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, ensuring successful project delivery from initiation to closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple IT projects concurrently, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Request and secure approval to initiate projects and oversee project closeout processes.
• Coach, mentor, and provide day-to-day direction and support to team members.
• Implement technology solutions specifically within a healthcare provider environment.
• Facilitate working sessions with large, cross-functional teams, including business, clinical, and technical stakeholders.
• Utilize project management tools and techniques for effective planning, risk management, and governance.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Over 10 years of total post-collegiate relevant professional experience.
• At least 6 years of project management experience leading IT projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in coaching, mentoring, and directing employees.
• At least 2 years of experience implementing technology solutions in a healthcare provider environment.
• Mastery of project management tools and techniques, including project planning and risk management.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of personnel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data and AI projects (1 year preferred).
