The Portfolio & Program Manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of Strategic Portfolios and the successful execution of the corresponding projects within the portfolio. This role ensures alignment with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the PMO and the organization. The manager will oversee the management of Project Managers and potentially other roles/resources, as well as vendor resources, including budget responsibility for their portfolio. They will define the roadmap, act as a liaison with the business as a partner, and drive technical strategy with the technical owners. In this position, the manager will work with internal and external partners on an IT Portfolio tower, specifically Dynamics 365, to oversee the overall portfolio and project definition, planning, execution, and control of multiple large or highly complex projects to successful completion. They will serve as a liaison between project team members, business partners, and technical resources, establishing work plans for the Portfolio, including program and project planning, resource management, test management (QA, UAT), release management, and value realization. The Portfolio & Program Manager is accountable for the overall delivery of the portfolio while managing programs/projects on an as-needed basis. They will assign tasks, goals, and responsibilities to project team members for research and development, budgeting, and scheduled delivery. The role requires conducting top-down and bottom-up analysis of project/portfolio budgets, determining and tracking performance using standardized KPIs, and building roadmaps and resource plans for multi-year initiatives with Business Users and IT Functional owners. The manager will also track progress, update portfolio and project management software, and report issues, delays, and developments that may affect project completion, escalating problems as appropriate to management and clients.
