About the position

The position at CommonSpirit Health involves leading the development of complex data solutions to meet organizational needs. The role requires a deep understanding of various coding languages and cloud architectures, as well as the ability to design and implement proof-of-concept solutions. The individual will be responsible for the full product lifecycle, strategic direction for data products, and mentoring other engineers. This role is crucial for driving technology transformation and improving cross-functional processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Independently prototypes/develops data solutions of high complexity to meet the needs of the organization and business customers.
• Leads highly complex and large enterprise-wide high visibility initiatives.
• Designs proof-of-concept solutions utilizing an advanced understanding of multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements.
• Creates and owns data product standards, providing technology advisory services.
• Acts as a recognized subject matter expert in multiple data products and business functions.
• Designs solutions for multiple large scale and long-term technology transformation.
• Provides strategic direction for technologies on data products, owning strategy and roadmaps for data products.
• Responsible for and owns the full product lifecycle.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating outstanding written and communication skills.
• Creates and maintains DevOps processes, application infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Innovates and advocates best practices in product development.
• Mentors other engineers in the team.
• Identifies and drives high complexity/cross-functional process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in different aspects of product engineering.
• 5+ years of experience leading large initiatives.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented concepts with experience in relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience in AWS, GCP, or other cloud architectures.
• Good understanding of messaging architectures like Kafka MQ, Mulesoft, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong experience in writing API services.
• Experience in developing multi-threaded applications.
