About the position

The IT Procurement & Asset Manager at Orion Marine Group is responsible for transforming IT operations into a strategic partner that enhances business competitiveness through technology. This role involves leading a team, managing the lifecycle of IT assets, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring effective vendor management while adhering to the company's core values of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Teamwork, and Integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians in the IT asset team to support the IT department and the company.
  • Develop and implement procurement and asset management strategies for efficient acquisition of goods and services.
  • Manage the entire asset lifecycle for all IT assets, from evaluation to disposal.
  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets as per the IT Asset Management policy.
  • Develop and implement IT asset management policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Organize asset planning, allocation, and maintenance for Business Continuity Planning.
  • Track and monitor actual monthly spending vs. budget for the department.
  • Manage the purchasing and receiving process to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of assets.
  • Validate and code all IT-related invoices for accounting processing.
  • Proactively review and re-negotiate vendor agreements and contracts to reduce costs.
  • Establish policies and processes for vendor management and evaluation.
  • Conduct vendor onboarding evaluations and annual reviews for critical vendors.
  • Manage IT-related facilities management activities as defined in the ITIL framework.
  • Ensure all IT assets are secured and protected from unauthorized access.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or Finance.
  • 5 years of experience in IT asset management, vendor relationships, and software licenses.
  • Strong financial acumen and contract management skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and reporting skills, especially with Excel or other BI tools.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and understanding of contracts and software license agreements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluent in Spanish is highly desired.
  • Current certifications such as ITAM and ITIL.
