About the position

The IT Procurement Contract Specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to execution and compliance. This role involves managing a variety of contracts across technical industries, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards, and maintaining thorough documentation. The specialist will also develop and implement policies for continuous improvement and provide training to the department on best practices in contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee contracts from drafting to execution.
  • Create, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of contracts.
  • Research applicable clauses and contract terms based on scope of work.
  • Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions for compliance.
  • Ensure contract review, approval, and execution according to guidelines.
  • Manage contracts post-signature to ensure compliance and maintain records.
  • Monitor contracts for close-out, extension, or renewal as needed.
  • Organize and maintain documents in an electronic filing system.
  • Keep contract templates up-to-date with industry changes.
  • Develop and implement procedures and policies for continuous improvement.
  • Review and manage software support and service level agreements.
  • Resolve contract-related problems with internal and external parties.
  • Prepare legal correspondence for internal or external review.
  • Streamline communication and monitor overall contract processes.
  • Create and maintain relationships with suppliers regarding contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business-related courses or Information Systems.
  • Three years of experience in contract creation, monitoring, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiations, record keeping, monitoring, and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Experience in teaching computer usage in one-on-one and classroom settings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
