About the position

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. This IT Product Lifecycle Management Intern will assist the I.T. development teams with identification and documentation of requirements, light development as well as managing testing and implementation. The Intern will gather requirements for system enhancements as well as problem tickets. This Intern will document existing and new processes and procedures for the I.T. development teams. This Intern will work closely with the IT development teams, customers and other colleagues in the IT department to analyze operational data sources, determine data availability, document, maintain and administer IT applications. From a day to day operations and project perspective, the work of the intern will be directed by a team manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist business and project managers in developing detailed plans to accomplish approved projects on schedule.
  • Meet with users to plan and develop detailed requirements.
  • Develop detailed design specifications to achieve requirements.
  • Execute unit tests and system testing in order to produce defect-free software.
  • Coordinate, assist and document user testing.
  • Upon user acceptance, submit a turnover package to Operations for production use.
  • Acquire and improve skills in new technologies through education and professional organizations.
  • Promote teamwork and volunteer to serve on ad hoc task groups from time to time.
  • Create reports per customer requirements.
  • Provide support for production systems.
  • Tests, monitors, manage and validate data warehouse activity.
  • Manages, schedules and documents data warehouse operations and tasks including extraction, movement, loading, security, backup, and aggregate table creation.
  • Report status to manager, as requested, and react immediately to any potential delays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working towards a degree in computer related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Visual Basic
  • Experience using MS Access
  • Experience in three or more of the following skills: financial applications, order processing, manufacturing, distribution, customer service.
  • Experience in Java (J2EE), Lotus Notes/Domino, LotusScript, SQL, web technologies (CSS, html, xml, javascript), client/server development, object-oriented programming.
  • Experience in designing and building relational databases.
  • Windows/Microsoft Office Suite experience.
